3 Tips To Finding The Best Lawn Company For Your Needs

You must surely have a deep affection for your lawn. After all, not only does a healthy, green lawn add to the overall value of your property, it also provides an area for fun outdoor family activities. According to reliable statistics, a well-maintained landscape can increase the value of a property by 15% to 20%!

Now, there isn’t a dearth of lawn companies in the world and choosing the best lawn care company in Dayton, Ohio can be confusing and time-consuming.  Fortunately, you need not scratch your head over decision-making as we have listed 3 tips to finding the best lawn company for your needs!

Tip 1: Make sure that the lawn care business is licensed and insured

It is of paramount importance for you to ensure that the people taking care of your lawn are insured and licensed. If the company isn’t insured, who would pay for the costs if a mower were to fling a rock into your house and break a window? And, in worst cases, if a person were to be injured while working on your property, you might be liable to treat him/her. In addition to that, you should also see to it that the company is licensed by the state to apply pesticides and other fertilizer products. Is the company a member of trade associations such as National Association of Landscape Professionals? A good lawn care business will always keep abreast of changing times and seek affiliations to help with networking and education to improve their business practices.

Tip 2: Things you need to do

Before you decide on hiring the services of a particular lawn company, it is important for you to know what services you are in need of. Do you need the company to mow your lawn? Or, do you need the company to do some advanced weed treatments and control the pests? Are you in search of experts who can fertilize and aerate your lawn? You should proceed with the hiring process only after listing the services you need. You should seek to hire the services of lawn companies that provide additional services such as leaf removal, overseeding, lawn pest control, aeration and snow shoveling etc. Basically, you should prefer companies that go beyond yard maintenance. At a bare minimum, the company service should at least include the diagnosis and treatment of pests and diseases.

Tip 3: Reviews, referrals, and recommendations

Of course, you should only seek to hire the services of a reputable company. And, the easiest way to find a reputable company is through word of mouth. Hence, you need to ask your relatives and neighbors for reviews, referrals, and recommendations. It would be foolish of you not to use the Internet for reviews and recommendations. You can easily check the unbiased reviews of lawn companies through various online sources such as Better Business Bureau, Yelp, or Google. You should be able to identify a lawn service that fits the bill with a little research.

I like your tip to find a lawn maintenance company that is a part of some sort of association since this will be a sign that they care about their business. My husband and I just bought a new house with a bigger yard, so we are wondering how to find a service to help us take care of it. We will definitely make sure that the lawn maintenance service we end up hiring shows they keep up with new methods and equipment by being a part of an association of some kind.
