How to make a fringe necklace

Can you believe it’s already spring here? The kids made water battle in the yard today…lucky us who lives in Mexico! Even if you still have a few weeks to wait for the nice weather, it’s always fun to make a new jewelry item to match your favorite spring outfit! You know that I like yarn jewelry and especially tassels, well today I will show you how to make a fringe necklace.

To make the necklace you will need: jewelry wire, small beads, rings, clasp, jewelry chain, several color of embroidery floss, pliers and scissors.

Cut a piece of wire of 2 inches, use the pliers to make a loop at one end. Pass the beads thought the wire and finish with a second loop at the other end.

You will need a second piece of wire to attach the tassels together. Start with a 6 inches long piece, you will cut the extra lenght once all the tassels are made. To make the tassels cut a piece of cardboard of 2 inches high to wrap the floss around it. Pass the floss several time around the cardboard.

Slowly slide the floss out of the cardboard and pass it around the wide. Cut a piece of floss and make a double knot to attach the tassel together.

Cut the bottom of the floss and repeat the process until you have 10 mini tassels on your wire.

Make a loop at each end of the wire, cut the extra length if needed.

Fold the wire to give it a half circle shape, and pass rings into the loops to attach the tassels and the beads together. You just finish your fringe pendant.

Cut two piece of jewelry chain and use rings to fix them with the pendant. Add clasp, and done!

Enjoy your new fringe necklace! I would love to see what color combination you choose!
