Creating Paper Flowers
To begin creating your paper flowers, start by a glass or a mug. Place the glass on the paper, and with a pencil draw a circle shape.
Cut the flower, making small petals shapes following the drawn circle. It’s perfectly fine if the petals are not the same size. The flowers doesn´t need to be symmetrical to be pretty.
Erase the remaining marks of the pencil circle. With a marker (I used these ones) draw a dot to make the flower center.
Time to make the flower stem. Take a green sheet, fold it in the center lengthwise, them fold it again to have 4 equal straps. Cut one long rectangle following the fold.
Start rolling one corner of paper on itself. Keep rolling, try to roll the paper as tightly as possible so that the stem is thin and strong. Apply glue on the end of the strap, roll and press to hold the paper in place.
To fix the flower with the stem, cut 3 small notches on top of the stem and open them. You can rounded the tip for a nicer finish. Add glue and press the flower with the top open stem to fix them together.
Cut a small rectangle, in the green paper to make a leaf. Fold the rectangle lengthwise, cut a tip on one side and rounded the other to create a leaf shape. Open the leaf, add some glue next to the bottom and fix the leaf on the flower stem.
Repeat previous steps to create as many flowers as you want.
With your flowers ready, you are now prepared to move on to make the base of your stunning centerpiece.
Mastering the Art of Assembly
To make the base of the centerpiece you will need cardboard, so grab a box and cut stripes of 1 1/2 in. by 10 inches (4cm x 30 cm).
Remove one of the flat side of the cardboard to show the weaved structure. This step is optional, you can also choose to let the cardboard as it, or paint it any color you like.
Roll the cardboard strip on itself to make a circle and glue both ends together to keep the shape in place.
Finally stick flowers in the cardboard to put together your centerpiece.

The flowers will display nicer if they are at different height, so don’t hesitate to cut the stems if needed. Mix and match different flower color to create an harmonious DIY centerpiece.
