Creating Realistic Tissue Paper Marigolds
- To create realistic marigolds, start by cutting out 4 rectangles in the tissue paper. As an indication the rectangle dimensions I used are 10 x 25 cm (4 in. by 10 in.). You can adapt the measure to make smaller or larger flowers.
- Place the 4 paper rectangle on top of each others.
- Starting from one of the short edges, make a fold of 1cm 81/2 in). Keep folding the paper to create an accordion.
- Grab a pipe cleaner and wrap an end around the center of the paper accordion.
- With the scissors, round both ends of the accordion to create the petal shape.
- Gently pull out each layer of tissue paper to give the marigold it´s shape.
- Take lid and put some drops of yellow paint in it.
- Smoothly dip the tip of the petals into the paint to give the marigold a realistic touch.
- Let the flower dry.
Make as many flowers as you like. Don´t hesitate to try a variety of sizes to create a stunningly realistic bouquet of marigolds.
